"From a Week in San Miguel"

This is what we saw over the garden wall from the back of our hotel.
The beautifully designed "Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel"

The "Jardin" is like the center of the town along with the Parroquia because many people (tourists and locals) gather here to enjoy the beautiful ambiance of the town and each other.

The pool behind our hotel as seen from the garden.  Every evening we sat in the garden and had drinks as we relaxed.  I enjoyed drawing in my sketchbook as Bo read and enjoyed the environment.

A lovely clay pot within a decorative iron casing/stand by the door at our hotel.

Beautiful use of pottery to adorn the wall and circulate water into the pool at "Hotel Villa Rivera".

  1. Aloha Steven,
Your sketches of San Miguel are wonderful. They took me away to a place I've never seen and made me want to visit. If the sketches are any indication, I'm guessing you two had a great time there.
    Have a good day tomorrow.
    Sincerely,
    Gary.

  2. Aloha to you Gary! ( Buenos Dias!)
San Miguel is a colorful and joyful place. So many artists and galleries. Very "other world" yet at the same time so easy to navigate and "be" among the people with ease.
I continue to enjoy your posts of your many adventures in Hawaii.
    Best wishes to you
    Steven

  3. Hi Steve, Thanks for the comment on my blog and letting me know that you were out there.
I just looked at all your San Miguel sketches, very nice! and cool coincidence as I will be going to San Miguel at the end of May for the first time. I will bring my Gouache paint and try to do as well as you have.
    Take care
    Dan
