"Our Garden on May 24, 2016"

I sketched this late in the day on Sunday and then painted it yesterday on site at the same hours as the day before.  This view is looking toward the east.  Right now the "rose campion" (the tall deep pink) is blooming along with the orange "butterfly weed", white "yarrow",  and short pink "ice plant".

Most evenings I sit on our patio and sketch and also enjoy watching the birds at our feeders and baths-so peaceful and relaxing.

  1. Hey Steven,
Sounds heavenly. Takes me back to our last garden. Sorry to say I never tried sketching it...The wine might have taken precedence! :) The wine, and just being too tired after working very hard to make it look great.
    Enjoy your day.
    Sincerely,
    Gary

  2. Hi Gary,
Yes, heavenly. Evenings when the humidity is low, along with a gentle breeze, you'll find me in our "Secret Garden at The Enchanted Cottage" sipping wine and sketching. It does take a lot of activity to make it look beautiful. The labor is therapeutic (good physical work-out)the activity is "honest" (Zen) and the rewards are Great!
